The Sherman Artists Association presents “Earth, Wind and Fire” at the Live 4 Art Gallery in Pawling New York. The artwork is themed and inspired by humans’ effects on the urban and rural environment, both good and bad. The artists have depicted both the adverse effects, such as global warming, waste, increased storms, and extreme weather, and positive effects, such as gardens, reforestation, conservation, wildlife awareness, and the earth’s beauty. There are paintings, photographs, glass, and pottery. The opening reception will be on November 1, 5 - 7pm. The show will then be up until December 1, 2024. The show is juried by Michael Garland, awarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons. Garland is a New York Times best-selling author and illustrator. His greatest success has been in writing and illustrating children’s picture books. He is also a fine artist with a long list of gallery shows and awards. His work has been featured in American Artist Magazine, Print Magazine, Communication Arts, and Conservation Magazine. Recently, his painting, Lattice Face, won an award at the annual Mark Twain Library Art Show. He and his wife reside in Patterson, New York.

There are over 50 artworks including paintings, photographs, glass and pottery. Artwork is by Elizabeth Bogues, Christy Bonaiuto, Donna Castelluccio, Phyllis Chadwick, Carolyn Cohen, Nancy Cuoco, Eva DeFranco, Karen Golden, Tony Gomez, Sylvia Hierro, Ted Hollander, Linda Hubbard, Elizabeth Knowles, Herb Kroeger, Kenny Litwack, Laura Paradiso, Terry Pasquale, Kathleen Pecks Marks, Liz Rosiello, Denise Schlesinger and Lynn Slonaker.

Sherman Artists Open Studios Dec 7-8

Deadline to participate is Tuesday, Oct 1, 2024

Join the Sherman Artists Association in celebrating our 4th year of a popular event that will be held in Sherman Artists’ Studios and pop-up locations within Sherman, CT. This is a great opportunity for SAA Artists to showcase their work prior to the holiday season. Participating artists have the choice to be in an assigned pop-up location or volunteer to be in their Sherman-located studio. Tables and grids can be provided if needed at pop-up locations, but if you have grids to use or can lend to our open studios, please let us know. Artists are responsible for their own displays, set-up, insurance, and selling of their work. All SAA Member Artists are welcome to apply. Work must be created by the artist.

The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Acceptance letters will be emailed on October 7. Once accepted, the entry fee of is $50 is due by October 15, 2024.

Once accepted, you will be sent a link to the artist agreement and a request for payment by ACH, credit, debit card or Venmo by October 15.

In addition, Open Studio participants will be invited to enter 1-2 art pieces into the Sherman Library Exhibit November 22, 2024 – January 8, 2025.

We had a wonderful turn out for the opening night of the “Great Hollow Juried Art Show Invitational 2024!” at the Sherman Library! Guests enjoyed the paintings and photographs while sipping wine and catching up with friends. The show is on display at the Library through October 9th.

The new show features artwork from the seventh Annual Great Hollow Juried Painting and Photography Show 2024. The winners, honorable mentions, and committee members have been invited to participate and share their love of nature through their depictions of wildlife and the beauty of the seasons. #Photography

We had a wonderful turn out for the opening night of the “Great Hollow Juried Art Show Invitational 2024!” at the Sherman Library! Guests enjoyed the paintings and photographs while sipping wine and catching up with friends. The show is on display at the Library through October 9th.

The new show features artwork from the seventh Annual Great Hollow Juried Painting and Photography Show 2024. The winners, honorable mentions, and committee members have been invited to participate and share their love of nature through their depictions of wildlife and the beauty of the seasons. #Photography
